Local Scholarship Forms

Local Agencies and Organization provide an opportunity for students to receive scholarships at a local level from a smaller group of participants. This can increase the chances of being awarded scholarships that can be more personal and meaningful to the student. Many of the forms are used from year to year. Please make note of the due dates and requirements. We will do our best to update the forms as soon as we receive them. 

Berrien Community Foundation Scholarship Opportunities 

BCF provides a one-time application for over 50 local scholarships and grants. We encourage you to complete their application and expand your opportunities for awards.

Scholarships are available for current high school seniors, early/middle college students, current college students, adults returning to school and students going into the skilled trades. We offer one common application for our 50+ opportunities, meaning your application will automatically be submitted to scholarships you're eligible for. As questions appear, that means it's another scholarship for which you're eligible! 

These scholarships are available primarily for Berrien County residents but there are some opportunities for Hartford High School graduates as well as students living in Cass, Van Buren, and St. Joseph counties. Our scholarships are determined by a variety of factors, including: Intended majors, extracurricular activities and financial need. They are not solely determined on GPA.

While the best source of scholarships is the college you are applying to, Scholarship Search Services can be very helpful. Colleges will usually automatically consider you for merit scholarships when you apply. They may also look at your major and your activities/sports for other options. Do not be afraid to ask your Financial Advisor for help.

That said, did you know there are specific scholarships for left-handed people, red-heads, really tall people, nationality based, interest based like crocheting or gardening, or even making a Prom dress out of Duct Tape!

While you don't need to register at all of the services listed, take a moment now (and throughout your college career) to check some of them out. You may be surprised at what you may find.

Does the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) have to be completed and verified if required? What if a student possesses a Certificate of Completion?

Answer:

To be eligible for Michigan Achievement Scholarship, the FAFSA must be completed and verified if required. Subsequent Institutional Student Information Records (ISIR) will be loaded into MiSSG. Students possessing a Certificate of Completion must have a submitted FAFSA with a calculated Expected Family Contribution and all other verification excluding high school completion must be complete and verified.
