🐝 Bee in the Know: Aquatic Center Renovation

We’re hard at work improving the Bridgman Aquatic Center to keep it safe, efficient, and ready for years of community use. Check back here for regular updates, project photos, renderings, and alternate swim options while renovations take place from end of March through early August 2026.

Funded by Our Community — With No New Taxes

This renovation is funded through Bridgman's long-standing recreation millage, a dedicated funding source used for community recreation facilities such as the Aquatic Center.

Because recreation funds have been carefully saved over time, these improvements can be completed without a tax increase to residents.

Thanks to your ongoing support of the recreation millage, Bridgman’s recreational facilities remain safe, efficient, and well-loved by the community.

K-13 fire-resistant insulation applied
New Pool Dehumidification Unit (PDU) installed
HVAC duct supports installed
New lighting rough-in underway

Project Overview

About the Renovation

The Bridgman Aquatic Center will be temporarily closed beginning March 23 through early August 2026 while crews complete a major renovation project designed to modernize key systems, improve energy efficiency, and enhance the overall experience for all users. The last day for public swimming will be Saturday, March 21, 2026.

This $4.7 million improvement project is funded entirely through the community’s long-standing recreation millage, with no tax increase and no impact on classroom or educational funding.

These updates will help ensure the Aquatic Center continues to serve everyone who relies on it — from lap swimmers and physical education classes to youth teams, therapy users, and families — for years to come.

What’s Being Upgraded

New pool HVAC system for better air quality, comfort, and humidity control.
Replacement of the pool roof to address aging infrastructure and improve energy efficiency.
UV treatment upgrades for cleaner, safer water.
Recaulking and structural maintenance to extend the facility’s lifespan.
Updated fire alarm systems to meet current safety standards.
Refreshed pool deck and finishes for a more welcoming, durable environment.

These improvements reflect Bridgman’s commitment to maintaining high-quality, community-centered recreation facilities that meet the needs of all users, today and for years to come.

Installation of new HVAC, filtration, UV systems, roof, and fire safety upgrades. Pool deck and finish updates completed.

Final Inspections & Testing

Systems are tested and safety inspections are completed.

Alternate Swim Options

Alternate Swim Options During Renovation

While the Bridgman Aquatic Center is closed beginning March 23 through early August 2026, community members will still have opportunities to stay active and enjoy the water. The district is partnering with two nearby community pools to offer discounted access for Bridgman residents throughout the renovation period.
