Science…We have started our unit on Minerals & Rocks.  We explored different properties of minerals this week.

Math…Adding & Subtracting Numbers…Keep practicing those math facts

Handwriting…We have learned how to write the lowercase letters

i, t, u, s, e, l, and h      in cursive.   Your child may want to practice these letters at home.

Reminders…

~Oct. 10th…Book Orders are due.  See attached order forms.  You may order online or send your order to school with your child.

~MEAP Test Snacks…Thank you to those who sent in snacks for us to have for our MEAP Testing days.  If anyone else would like to help provide a healthy snack for one of those days, please let me know.  The whole class thanks you!!!

~Oct. 24th Field Trip to Fort St. Joseph Educational Day in Niles, MI.  This is an interactive field trip where we will learn what it was like to live in a pioneer village in Michigan.  To help you plan ahead, there is a $4.00 cost per child.  We will leave the school at 10:45 and return at 2:45.  Our time at the Educational Day will be from 11:30-2:00.  Due to the timing of the field trip, we are asking students to bring a sack lunch that day.  We will have to eat quite early in place of our morning snack.  When we return at 2:45, we will enjoy a heavier snack time.

~My web page is up and running.  If you have a computer you may want to check it out.  Just go to www.bridgmanschools.com – click on the link to the elementary, then on Homework Links, and then on my name.

~This week we had an assembly teaching us about Railroad Safety.  Besides learning some great safety tips, we enjoyed a train ride (in our school parking lot).                                                                          (over)

~Remember…your child needs to be reading 15 minutes a night and recording their time on their Book-It calendar.

            ~Next sharing time will be Oct. 20th & 21st.
