Third Grade Happenings

Spelling…next week we will have a review week.  Look for the word list on Tuesday. Test will be on Friday

Reading…We have just finished our last unit.  Our last group of stories were all about butterflies.  Next week will be a review week in reading also.

Social Studies…We continue to learn about Michigan’s history.  We have been working on Michigan books and have just finished reading about the War of 1812. 

Science…We are learning all about plants.  This summer hopefully you will have some beautiful sunflowers.  The seeds came from sunflowers from my garden last year.

Math…We continue to practice our multiplication facts.  We have been practicing some measuring too!

The students did a great job yesterday singing at the New Buffalo Welcome Center.  What an honor to be asked to be a part of their celebration!

3rd Grade Picnic…Thursday, June 3rd…at Lake Township Park(11:00-12:30).  Students are to bring a sack lunch & non-breakable drink.   It is nice if everything can be thrown out at the park and we don’t have to keep track of lunchboxes.  Parents are welcome to meet us at the park. Students will need to ride the bus back to school with their class.

Field Day…Friday, June 4th…We will be at the Bridgman High School from 9:15-11:15.  Parents are welcome…Students are welcome to bring a bottle of water to drink.  Please have their name on the bottle.  Also have sunscreen on your child too!!  J

Summer Birthdays…If your child celebrates their birthday in the summer and would like to celebrate it with the class…just let me know what day you would like to have your child bring in a treat.  The class looks forward to celebrating each other’s special day!!!
