Keith Haring Style Drawing                                    

1. Learn something about who Keith Haring is as an artist.

2. Pick one of the illustrations from the "My First Coloring Book". Color using only one color for each shape. It is OK to leave areas white.

3. Make your own illustration in Haring's style:

     a. Draw a 8x8" square. Use a ruler.

     b. Draw a design in pencil that considers the whole area. Keep your design abstract, with simple, flat shapes that show action. Add "motion" lines in several places.

     c. Use a thick, black marker to outline your pencil lines. Add more motion lines, if you would like.

     d. color your design in plain, flat colors.
