If the world were a village of 100 people:

- +2 Asians who are in the newly industrialized economies like Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Korea, Taiwan
- 5 are North American (US + Canada)
- 7 are Latin American (Mexico and south …)
- 7 are European
- 4 are Middle Eastern
- 10 are African
- 7 are Russian or in the former Soviet states
- 8 are in other areas such as Oceania
- 52 would be female; 48 would be male
- 33 are Christian, 18 Muslim, 17 Non-religious, 13 Hindu, 6 Buddhist, 4 Atheist,
9 are other faiths (including .3% Jewish, and .1% Baha’i)
- 16 people speak Mandarin Chinese, 9 people are native English speakers (although 34 people speak it at least as a second language), 8 speak Hindi or Urdu, 6 speak Spanish, 6 speak Russian, and 4 speak Arabic. (Over half of the population use languages other than these.)
