NEWS FROM THE CLASSROOM
Periodically, I will be assessing the students' ability to follow directions, since this is often the reason why a student might not have success with an assignment. This will be listed as "Following Directions" on the gradebook page.
EIGHTH GRADE
HOMEWORK POLICY
As an eighth grader, preparing to go on to high school standards and expectations are increased. Regarding assignments, our policy (based upon the nature of the assignment) is as follows:
Every assignment has a due date and may be turned in the next day for 10% off (teacher discretion applies), but will not be accepted after that.
If this nonproductive behavior continues the following may occur:
- After a conference with the student, a nonproductive detention will be given.
- Habitual nonproductive behavior may result in ISS and a parent conference.
OUR PHILOSOPHY:
WRITING
"Writing is the ultimate learning tool for all students of all ages in all subjects." WriteSource 2000
