WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL!

As always, if you have questions or concerns and need to contact me, please leave a message for me at school (466-0305) and I'll return your call.  If you prefer, contact me by email at acottingham@bridgmanschools.com.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Timed addition tests--These will start soon.  I try to give a test every week (usually on Mondays).  Please help your child prepare for these by practicing the 100 addition facts (1 - 10) regularly.  Our goal for second graders is 80 of the 100 correct within 5 minutes.

Our Fall Specials Schedule:

     Monday:           Gym and Library

     Tuesday:        Art

      Wednesday:    Music and Gym

     Thursday:        Gym and Computers

     Friday:              Music and French

     Technology:    Every other Friday

Homework Folders--These are to be brought home and returned to school daily.  Student home-reading charts are included in the folders, and students and parents are asked to document daily that 15 minutes (or more) are spent reading at home. Please help your child remember to do this very important homework!

Birthdays:  Students are encouraged to bring an easy-to-serve/easy-to-eat treat for the class.  (No drinks, please.) We have twenty-four students, and two teachers during snack time when we eat the treats.   Students may also bring a treat for the office staff (but are no longer allowed to take treats to other teachers in the school since it became too disruptive to the teaching and learning process). We celebrate each birthday with warm fuzzies, a card, and a birthday song.  All summer birthdays are celebrated on the last day of school.
