GIRLS ON THE RUN COACHES NEEDED!
If you could help ten to fifteen girls gain a stronger sense of identity, greater self-esteem and self-acceptance, and empower them to change their world in just THREE hours a week, would you?

Girls on the Run at Bridgman Elementary is seeking volunteer coaches to facilitate this empowering program. The program begins the week of March 12th and ends with a 5K celebration fun run on May 31st. Practices will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-4:30.

Coaches DO NOT need to be runners themselves. The only requirement is enthusiasm and a commitment to a healthy development of young girls!

To volunteer please contact Heather Wilson at 466-0304 or hwilson@bridgmanschools.com

For more information about Girls on the Run please visit www.uwsm.org/girlsontherun.

WINTER IS HERE!

Here is a reminder regarding recess & winter weather  (from the Bridgman Elementary School 2011-2012 Parent/Student Handbook):

  • Please dress your child according to the weather (including boots when snow is present) –and   always send a season-appropriate coat with your child
  • Students who come to school without snow pants and/or boots is NOT a reason to stay in from    recess – they will stay on the cleared-off sidewalks of the playground
  • Recess will be held outside when the temperature (or wind chill) is 10 degrees or above, or not raining (depending on conditions)

HONEYWELL INSTANT ALERT SYSTEM

Have you changed your phone number recently??  Replaced your home phone with a cell phone?  If so, make sure you update your information at the Elementary School office AND the Honeywell Alert system.  We use this system to notify parents of school closings, sporting event cancellations, messages from the superintendent, picture days, PTO reminders, ice cream social, etc.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU LISTEN CAREFULLY TO ANY MESSAGES THAT COME TO YOU FROM THE HONEYWELL INSTANT ALERT SYSTEM - please do not call the school.
